Annie’s Desk-March Updates

Hi everyone! I can’t believe we are in March already. For this month’s update I’ve been busy (in the best way) getting back into knitting. It had been a while, but I was asked to help make knit dishcloths to distribute at a cancer walk in my hometown. I’ve been working away on those all month and having a lot of fun polishing up my rusty skills.

Another project I am working on is knitting my very first sweater. I am making it for my granddaughter! She turns 1 next month so I thought I’d make one that’s 12-18 months for her! It’s been such a sweet project and I’m loving every minute of it.

The other big thing keeping me hopping is maple syrup season. This is one of my absolute favorite pastimes. My husband and I have spent the month collecting sap from our very old maple trees in Northern Michigan. We’ve cooking it down into syrup on the weekends. Therefore, we like to call ourselved weekend warriors for this project. So far, we’re closing in on 200 gallons of sap so far this year, which is our biggest collection in the five years we’ve been doing this!

Finally, I’ve been tackling some behind-the-scenes business tasks in my spare time and wrapping up a long-term science project at work. I’m definitely ready to pick my crochet hook back up again, and I’ll be releasing my spring hats very soon. -With gratitude, Annie
